Avoid the exploitation

Pros

3 free tall drinks a day, one free food item for shift supervisors, tips (unless they're stolen by the management)

Cons

Overworked (50hr weeks), underpaid (11 euro an hour) for holding a supervisor role where you're held responsible for every single issue that arises on shift, such as calling the police, cleaning up vomit/broken glass, customer complaints, the till being down comes out of your tips. Management once asked a girl to come to work while her mother lay dying in ICU. AVOID this place. Don't support their business, as it drives local coffee shops out of business.

Pros

Those who I worked with directly. There was a comradery amongst employees directly because of how bad the company was towards us but because of that we really did go up and beyond for eachother (e.g., covering shifts, staying later to help etc.) My manager also tried to make it as easy as possible for us took a lot of heat off those above her simply by always caving into their unrealistic and frankly diabolical demands`.

Cons

I joined when I was 19 and they paid me minimum wage and said I would receive a fair wage when i turned 20 - then they tried to not raise my wage still after my birthday and only caved after many fellow employees and my manager came forward. I also worked through Covid and we were the busiest Irish store for a few weeks despite being understaffed and were meant to receive roughly a 1.5k bonus each (dependent on hours worked) which they cancelled last second and gave us a pizza party instead (I also think my manager just did this on her own accord to soften the blow.) When higher managers and people from head office would come in they would often treat us like scum. They simply exploited us every chance they could get.
