You may have seen headlines suggesting that Glassdoor is no longer anonymous. To put it simply, that’s false. Our commitment to protecting your anonymity has not changed—it is what Glassdoor is built on, and it’s what makes candid workplace conversations possible. Reviews are and will always be anonymous. In the new Glassdoor community, we’re all about creating a safe space for real talk. Users can have anonymous conversations about their careers with their industry peers. Verifying identity helps keep communities safe, helps keep the trolls away, and helps make sure people are who they say they are, when they’re contributing to the community—and yes, still anonymously. Here’s our CEO Christian Sutherland-Wong on how verification and anonymity work together at Glassdoor:

"Being vulnerable at work is not easy for me, and it's something I am working on -- daily. I had the chance to moderate a conversation in conjunction with Black History Month, led by our Black Employee Resource Group at Glassdoor. Panelists shared some amazing and eye-opening stories about their hair journeys and how their hairstyle choices have impacted their careers over the years. Their vulnerability inspired me to also reflect and open up myself. I change my hair a lot because I like doing so, not for anyone else. But this particular reflection made me think about the choices I have struggled with in the past when it comes to deciding how to wear my hair for interviews and honestly, dated views that are embedded in many people of what is and isn't seen as professional. The truth is, wearing your hair just how it grows from your head should not be part of a debate on professionalism, and it never should have been." - Stacia D., Content Marketing Manager Stacia, thank you for bravely sharing your experiences. Your vulnerability and dedication contribute immensely to fostering equity and inclusion both within our organization and beyond.
