Pros

Remote working Great colleagues (mostly)

Cons

There has just been another round of layoffs which has effected a number of departments globally and no explanations or reasons as to why certain teams/people are being let go. Like previous times, everything is being kept a secret. You are only a number in this company and not respected. Last 12 months has only been about growing engineering teams in India while other teams have lost people that haven't been replaced. Communication is very poor and leadership team are never to be seen except when praising or promoting themselves on social media or at events. Their only concern is how they look and are perceived in the market - not on running the business or looking after employees. All you here is how we are the "Dream Team" and how we are the best in the industry - if you tell yourself something enough times, you'll start to believe it too!

Pros

Used to be a great company. Really talked the talk. I have put a review in here myself roughly a year ago that was 5 stars and all positive. But things have gone down fast. Lots of really good and really smart people. Very friendly and a genuine willingness to succeed in the business.

Cons

Just done yet another round of layoffs. The simple fact is that Deel, Remote and others are eating our lunch. The perception right or wrong is that G-P is too expensive as a product and its offerings don't match what the others can, and thus it's not winning sales deals. Hard to turn around that downward spiral. I was in software product management and different parts of the companies own solutions are totally disconnected. Each team/group is working on its own area, not really connected with other teams and groups. So we have a series of customer facing products, that don't fully interact with other parts of our own solutions. So we have all these features that *no one* uses.

Pros

I worked with great team. Of course more than half of the people who knew what they were doing resigned or got laid out. So it's in the past.

Cons

Many. When the team wss still there there were already red flags. GP pays below market - they say they don't but in Ireland it is between 15k-25k below what you can get in other places. You work from home but they only give you a measly 300 euro allowance when you join. They promote people once per year. I have seen SE level 2 consistently doing a work of a senior and still not getting promoted. That stings a lot, but what stings even more is when you see some random people geing promoted that are the butt of jokes - because they hardly do any work. After leadership change the company runs purely on politics. It's all about who you know and whether you will blindly agree to deliver a solution ignorant leadership team wants you to deliver. If not then one day your colleagues suddenly can't reach you on slack, or are surprised that you can't support their project anymore. You just got laid and the leadership team had no common courtesy to even assess the impact it might have on other teams or tell them. Just read other comments. I resigned in the middle of 2023 seeing what the company turns into. They have had 3 rounds of layoffs and the people who stayed (the hard working ones at least) are most likely waiting till March to get the annual bonuses and go somewhere else.
