Leaving the comfort of your living room does not mean you’re leaving a great entertainment experience behind. In partnership with HP, we’re expanding the IMAX Enhanced ecosystem to include mobile PCs and laptops so consumers can continue to enjoy immersive, high-quality content experiences wherever they watch content. The goal of IMAX Enhanced has always been to deliver the best possible viewing experience outside of the theatre, where the majority of entertainment content is consumed. IMAX Enhanced was first available on TVs and AV receivers, sound bars and loudspeakers before it expanded into mobile and now to laptops. IMAX and DTS work closely with OEM partners during certification for both the display and the audio components. Products go through a rigorous calibration process to ensure brightness, contrast ratio and other performance factors meet the IMAX Enhanced specifications. Similarly, with audio, DTS:X allows sounds to move freely around the listener to make them feel more immersed in the content.
How do you create extraordinary experiences in your role? As Xperi’s Human Resources Coordinator for North America, I am primarily responsible for facilitating a smooth onboarding process for all new hires. I make sure all of our onboarding paperwork is up to date and also work closely with our senior HR manager to ensure feedback on our new hire onboarding survey is addressed in a timely manner. I love what I get to do every day for Xperi! How long have you worked at Xperi and what led you to our industry? I have been with Xperi for about a year. I previously worked in various HR generalist positions and was looking for a role that was more centralized in one area and a role that was also administrative-heavy. By the grace of timing and after reviewing the job description, it was a perfect fit! I feel very fortunate to be in this role and utilize my strengths. When you’re not at work, how do you spend your time? When I’m not at work, my husband and I like to explore LA and try new eateries. We are also always looking for fun places to bring our dog with us, which is so much fun!
How do you create extraordinary experiences in your role? I make sure that the delivered software meets all stakeholders’ requirements and is of high quality. Where possible, I try to automate repetitive work. I also make sure that everyone understands the requirements the same way. How long have you worked at Xperi and what led you to our industry? I’ve been working at Xperi for over a year, but time flows so well here that I feel as if I’ve been working for much longer. Prior to joining Xperi, I also dealt with the quality of software at other companies. Fun Facts: If you were a superhero, what would your superpower be? My superpower would be finding bugs in software. I would find all of the bugs and the world would be safer and more beautiful. When you’re not at work, how do you spend your time? After work, I like to move a bit and listen to podcasts. Sometimes I go for a walk, go to the gym or go swimming. In the evening I like to watch a Marvel movie or series. During the weekends I like to spend time with my friends and family.

In 2022, we adopted our first ESG policy, hired an ESG lead, and established an ESG Steering Committee that oversees Xperi’s ESG strategy, goals, and progress. Our ESG Pillars of Culture & Belonging, Resilience and Corporate Governance and Community Impact determine how we structure our goals and track our accomplishments throughout the year. For the first time, we have set external targets across the four pillars of our ESG program and we will share progress against these targets on an annual basis in future ESG reporting.
Get to Know Amanda Hastings, Senior Manager, Content Business Operations Office Location: San Jose, CA How do you create extraordinary experiences in your role? I work on the TiVo+ team where I manage the day-to-day partner relationships and content priorities, bringing the greatest free content to the forefront of your viewing experience. It’s an exciting role in which I decide the best partners to onboard, as well as work closely with the partner to identify the top content to promote. So, whether you like video-on-demand, linear, original content or movies & TV tentpoles, we have something free and fabulous for you to stream. How long have you worked at Xperi and what led you to our industry? I have always had a passion for the entertainment space. I studied animation and worked in post-production prior to starting my career at Vudu back in January 2015. From there I discovered a love for content and partner management, along with a talent for promotion and content curation. In October 2020, I joined the TiVo+ team at Xperi and I haven’t looked back.
