The Road Safety Authority visited RehabCare Quayside Dundalk last week, offering a highly informative presentation which looked at road safety for drivers and passengers, as well as cyclists and pedestrians. Members of our service were advised of the importance of wearing their high vis jackets, which were kindly supplied to our members by the RSA, and the importance of wearing helmets when cycling was also raised. 🏆 We were thrilled to be named winners in four categories at this year's esteemed Irish Healthcare Centre Awards, which took place on Friday 10th May at the Royal Marine Hotel, Dublin. We are so proud of our RehabCare and our People & Culture teams as they were honoured on a national stage, among colleagues from across the Irish disability and healthcare sectors. RehabCare Cavan hosted a wonderful job shadow presentation on 31st January, celebrating and acknowledging the many connections forged and the skills developed by people from the service as part of the initiative. Deputy Brendan Smith T.D. attended the event and kindly assisted hosting staff Catherine Mohan and Sheryl Galligan with the presentation of certificates. It was a great community event, attended by many of the local businesses involved in the job shadow initiative, who also received certificates for taking part. A great day was had in RehabCare Cavan! We are thrilled to be a finalist in a new category at the Irish Healthcare Centre Awards 2023, the Healthcare Initiative - Recruitment and Retention award. We are incredibly proud of all our staff members, who bring expertise and dedication to their roles and who change the lives of the people using RehabCare services. Last year, several staff members starred in a recruitment video campaign, titled Humans of RehabCare. This campaign shone a light on the employees behind the organisation; people who go above and beyond every day. Recruitment and retention have been issues affecting the disability and healthcare sectors over the last number of years.
