Baxter is shocked and saddened by the tragic violence and humanitarian crisis gripping Ukraine. During this time, we are focused on providing support to employees in the region, working to maintain access to our life-sustaining products, and activating a multi-tiered humanitarian response with our aid partners—including Americares and Direct Relief—to deploy Baxter products to Ukraine and countries taking in refugees. The Baxter International Foundation also is making financial grants to support activities of Americares, International Medical Corps (IMC), Project HOPE and USA for UNHCR (UN Refugee Agency) who are providing critical supplies and health services in the region. In addition, the Foundation launched a 2:1 employee matching gift opportunity through Americares and has seen an outpouring of generosity from colleagues who want to make a meaningful difference. We will continue to carefully monitor this very fluid situation as we hope for an end to this devastating conflict.
March 8 is International Women’s Day (IWD) – March 8 is International Women’s Day (IWD), a day when we recognize and celebrate the incredible women at Baxter. This year’s IWD theme is “Break the Bias.” Bias can take many forms and can be deliberate or unconscious—and can make it difficult for women to move ahead. It’s important that we each do our part to identify and address our biases to create a safe space in which every person can thrive. We are committed to #BreakTheBias, not just on IWD, but every day.
