Pros

It’s a great company if you are looking to travel and experience new things. I was lucky to be able to work in 2 different destinations this year and met many great colleagues along the way. You get good commission, the support by management was excellent, and the entire team is really strong for recognising excellence in the work place.

Cons

Commission depends on what hotel you work in, some make great commission, some don’t. The work is spread across 5 1/2 days a week, so you only get 1 1/2 days off, some destinations you only get one day off. Your wages are based on a salary, so if you are working over time, they won’t pay you for those hours but will try to give you the time back. Some cases you won’t get the time back at all It is difficult to book time off and it’s very rare to get a full week off especially during peak summer, so usually you will only get 3-4 days off approved. It’s not always a stable job, you might work abroad for a few months during the summer and you may not get any summer destination for the year after, so be mindful of that.

Pros

Ok bonus depending on your band, good annual leave and if you like package holidays then the concession is great. Salary is middling for marketing, but teams are nice in the function and holidays are a nice product to sell.

Cons

The current ‘transformation’ is making people uneasy at the moment. Technology isn’t where it should be for a company like TUI, competitors are able to instigate change much quicker. Like any big company it also feels like shareholders are no. 1 priority despite being told employees and customers are on par!
