Pros

- €14 per hour - time and a half on Sunday - fast paced work - successful business, good team to work for - really positive atmosphere - possibilities of career progression - fortnightly pay

Cons

- you will work every. Single. Weekend. All weekend - work every bank holiday - too much pressure from hire management for not enough money (€500 pw) - nearly daily visits from District Managers, a lot of stress and pressure - never enough staff - never enough hours - management are delusional - very toxic management atmosphere, TLs working every weekend all weekend - TLs do all 5am delivery shifts, nightshifts, and night delivery shifts which are also on weekends and are 5pm-1:30am - work/life balance is non-existent, TK Maxx is your other half - no HR management, disciplinary investigations handled by TLs and AMs with no training or qualifications to handle them - staff contracts only reach 20hrs, so store associates can work 37hrs all Christmas and then be put back to 20hrs in January when not needed, also holiday pay will be their contract hours, really unfair - staff are given Tesco water bottle and milk tray as Christmas bonus, managers get €5K Christmas bonus

Pros

Amazing bubbly staff. Very welcoming place for new hires.

Cons

No consistency your hours and days are never the same. It is rare to get your two days off together. You go from one extreme to the other; closing at 9.30 and opening at 6 AM the following morning. They want you to be fully flexible and always on call yet they will never give you a full-time contract. Poor work life balance.

Good pay, varied work, bad managers

Pros

The pay was very good considering the lack of necessary skills. I got the job off of my experience working in minimum wage cashier positions, so to move from minimum wage up to 12 euro an hour was amazing. The variety of jobs made going to work interesting. From fitting rooms, jewellery counter, frontfacing shelves, working tills, or helping with backroom returns - there was never a dull day.

Cons

The managers could sometimes get on a powertrip. i had to report a specific manager for making homophobic comments to another member of staff, and he later targetted me and attempted to get me fired by catching me out while on tils (tried to make me answer questions while serving a customer so he could accuse me of bad customer service, and when i didn’t pay him attention and gave good customer service he then accused me of undermining his authority).
