Pros

Systems of work not related to people are world class. Project management experience second to none. If you are into office politics this is the place for you.

Cons

Most of the time spent pandering to the Gallup Q12 system which plays plants against each other. Too much politics. Many managers are poor.

A systemically bad culture here

Pros

Medtech experience if you have none

Cons

Ridiculously non-competitive pay (if you're R&D, Engineering, Quality etc set your expectations very low). Their expectation is you should reap no rewards for working really hard and be happy about it. You will have to dedicate your life to Stryker, otherwise if you're not answering calls until midnight and sucking up to your manager and leadership there is no chance you can ever get ahead. Its a very parochial and elitist organisation with HR and leadership very focused on initiatives that are in-vogue in the media (like Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) which would be great if the internal culture was already one of fairness and work-life balance, but it is not. I would highly recommend to avoid this company unless you are new out of college and need experience, otherwise, there is so much better out there. They are a very superficial company who cares more about ensuring they appear good to the outside world and their stakeholders, instead of doing right by their employees. Fundamentally, the mission is a marketing tool as opposed to a reality.

Pros

Ok compensation - market average.

Cons

Work life balance non existent, there’s an expectation on all support staff to work well in excess of their weekly contracted hours. Not at all flexible. Annual leave allowance is the basic statutory days however the company dictates when you can take your holidays ( during company shutdown). Poor / old systems. Not very welcoming to new hires, a lot of people working here 10+ years so plenty of cliques. Nobody seems to like change regardless of how much benefit it could bring to them or the company. Management lacklustre and communication poor
