Pros

Steady work, flexi-time, paid health insurance. Work for some cool customers.

Cons

No pay rises for some departments, plenty for others. 7 years without a pay-rise now. Contractually prevented from discussing salary matters with colleagues (yeah right!). Staff working for years have new recruits coming in on the same money without any experience - should be graded. Annual Review process is a hideous joke - probably only done because of some legal obligation! Management HAVENT A CLUE of the make-up of their business. Spoon-fed buzzwords by upper managers and mindlessly told what should be happening, without hearing the reports of the 'real world' from their coal-face workers - like living in a fantasy really. No job satisfaction for years now!! Definitely NO PROMOTION PROSPECTS! Do not come to Lionbridge if you're ambitious - come to Lionbridge if you're a sociopath and you'll fit right in. In fact you'll do better, you'll ascend!

Pros

Worked with some great, friendly people. Learned a lot in a pressurised environment. Staff and line managers are the only things keeping the place going.

Cons

Almost a pathological level of meanness towards staff in terms of pay. Expecting staff to start on a lousy salary is one thing, but expecting them to stay on that lousy salary forever is another. Management's only answer to every problem is to cut costs, let good staff go, contracts not renewed as they stumble from one crisis to another. Then when they do win some new business they no longer have the staff to do the work.

Pros

Some nice people work there. Hours are reasonable and company pays for health insurance. Ballina is an ok town and there are several lunch options available.

Cons

Pay tends to be very low and wages were frozen for several years even though the unit was very profitable. Meetings were held every quarter where budget targets were discussed at length (in terms of percentages), but actual numbers were never discussed, no doubt to stop the plebs from rebelling. Staff turnover is pretty high.
