Bullying culture, shouting and insults - stay away!
Pros
Salaries, I guess. The main reason why people stayed in my team... Location and the social + sports initiatives.
Cons
HJL is considered to be a good company and for many it is. It is hell if you end up in my ex-team. The director is an unapproachable bully and has been creating a bullying culture for years. What is worse, some brown noses are okay with that and in order to get favours and promotions not only pretend like everything is normal, but might do the same. The Managing Director (who has changed from the name written here) and HR were aware of that but they were not capable of changing things. The day would start with this director shouting and insulting people and that would go on all day long. Words like "stupid" and "idiots" were normal in there and were said in front of everybody. The bad 4 letter word starting with "f" was used in every possible variation and nobody ever spoke up about that, at least not that I know. The atmosphere was very tense, I know that some people were getting headaches and were having stress problems. Note that people in other teams were rather happy so the problem might be just the one I was in. Overall, in my team there was a very poor work ethics and no values whatsoever. People stepping on other's people toes, people lying, bullying and shouting at each other. I hold our director responsible for that because he never took some time to create a friendly and peaceful environment (for example, joiners were never introduced to the team, so they would sit there alone, nobody knew their names of what they were going to work on). Everybody in HJL knows about that, people from other teams feel bad for me when I used to tell them who my director was. So make your research, ask around and make sure you NEVER end up in that team.
