Pros

If you're a popular person you can blag your way into not having to do any work. Well liked people are tagged as "trainers" by management without any change of contract, pay or training and as a result do little or no work all day. Get in with management from day one if you're this type of person and bag yourself an easy job

Cons

In the experience of most of the people I worked with you can expect for the company to forget to pay you for the first couple of months, in my own experience this last over 3 months and required me to lodge a complaint with the Workplace Relations Commission. During my time here of nearly two years, every new team of staff (approx 14/month) were "mistakenly" not paid. Management also have very little empathy or respect for their employees and staff are very regularly laid off for being sick. This is chalked up to an "inability to fulfill your contract". There's no fire warden on a floor of over 130 people, there is no one trained in health and safety, first aid or CPR. For a year, management promised repeatedly this would be dealt with and it never was. You are completely incapable of excelling in a role with this company and the corporate structure is designed to prevent you from doing so. Only take a job with HCL if you have literally no other option. This company run sweatshops. Expect to have your rights breached by being asked to work without 11 hour rests between shifts and in excess of 7 days in a row without a day off. Don't expect Christmas Day off. Don't expect any bonuses, incentives or promises to ever be fulfilled- despite countless incentive programs, not a single member of my department ever received monies owed through these plans that they had earned.

Pros

If you are technically just good, you will get the job. (know about modems, internet, customer service) they are a calling center , so they always have openings. (each 2 months) They give training.

Cons

1. No stability, as you always see new staff due to the high quieting rate. 2. Over 13 interface to troubleshoot the internet. (old system) 3. Bad kind of pressure all the time.

Pros

work colleagues, social circle, suits students

Cons

Poor wages, no benefits, poor management and training. I was given a start date a few weeks before started. This was cancelled and deferred for 2 months a week before I was supposed to start. On leaving the company, I had issues with wages and holiday pay which was the case for several ex employees. No respect for employees when they work there and less when they leave. Very limited means of progression and with that, little or no pay increase.
