Very poor pay and benefits. I work as a senior software engineer in Dublin, Ireland and you can literally earn about 40+% elsewhere. The benefits are poor as well. They got rid of the pension and now new staff will only get the new auto-enrolment scheme which is much worse than the previous pension. No bonus, No health insurance, They give a 100 euro one 4 all voucher at year end when most companies give 500 euro - 1000 euro,
Annual pay increases are low. This year we just received a 1% pay increase. I can't remember the last time my pay increase even beat inflation.
On call is mandatory and pay is terrible for it. Lots of calls out of hours.
The work is very hard and stressful. So many projects are ugent with borderline impossible timelines and constantly changing requirements or feature creep.
While the other staff are great the whole environment is toxic and everyone there is miserable. It has been like that for a long time but it just keeps getting worse.
