Mechanics (Engineering & Maintenance)
Our maintenance teams keep our fleet running smoothly and we are justifiably proud of our safety record. They look after our fleet of buses and coaches, making a real difference to our customer experience. With a fleet of 1,150 buses and coaches based at 16 depots, operating across c.225 routes, we’re looking for craftworkers like you who put pride and perseverance into your job ensuring our vehicles always run efficiently, look their best and are well maintained and presented. We offer regular hours in well-equipped garages. Join our Heavy Vehicle Mechanic team and have a hand in Ireland’s future.
Drivers
Our drivers are the public face of Bus Éireann, every day serving our customers, young and old, in the spirit of our values. When you step into the Bus Éireann uniform, you become an ambassador for the brand. You believe in our vision to put customers at the heart of what we do every day, safely connecting our customers with who and what matters to them, helping to make life better. We have a Professional Bus Driver Training Programme in Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Galway and Waterford. The minimum requirement is a car licence. Initial training will be provided as well as ongoing training and development when you join our team.

Apprentices
Recognised at the National Diversity and Inclusion Awards 2023 and the CIPD Awards 2024, Bus Éireann’s award-winning Apprenticeship Programme will train you to the very highest technical standards. You will learn how to maintain all the systems in modern public service vehicles, including training on day-to-day repairs and preventative maintenance tasks, vehicle diagnostics/fault finding with some of the most advanced systems of its kind in place. Your apprenticeship comprises seven phases, three off-the-job as designated by SOLAS and four on-the-job that take place with Bus Éireann. During your time at Bus Éireann, you will be supported by our Apprenticeship Manager, David Poynton Rowley, who commenced his career on the Apprenticeship Programme, and the wider Engineering Team.
