I applied online and received an email of the hiring manager that they want to interview me after the “holidays” interview details to be sent shortly. Three weeks past and I heard nothing. Then I received an email saying I withdrew my application. Err? No I didn’t. So I wrote a email to HR. Surprisingly enough they didn’t seem to think I would notice so they made excuses on how I got forgotten etc then they would like to interview me. The hiring manager then reposted the job on a higher salary and interviewed me again with HR. Asked me basic competency questions which I didn’t have any difficulty answering but I guess you have to find a fit for your company team role etc. didn’t expect to get the job as many people have experience. Now the job that was reposted had deadline and I was told in the interview that they had more applicants to interview and they would review final people by end of next week. Lo and behold they wait the next day which is the deadline and send an email saying that I wasn’t accepted. Which is fine the role was below my salary and experience however my complaint is that why didn’t they wait to interview others first ? It seems they already had someone in mind and reposted role in haste and ignored my application thinking I wouldn’t notice. Then continued to interview me regardless of their intentions. Waste of time really. Would I apply here ever again? Probably not! The interview felt like I was a junior and applying for a senior role! Telling me that I don’t need to worry and take my time! Hello I been doing interviews all my life? Abit patronising at times…..

Give an example where you had to find information? Isnt that every job? Give an example where you came to a solution? So very standard questions…. Only had 4-5 questions which I found very basic for a role that’s quite senior!! Was not pushed or grilled on my past experience or what I can bring to the role? Knew straight away they had no intention of giving me the job!
