I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Sporty Group in Feb 2026
Interview
STAY AWAY. I completed a demanding home assignment for SportyBet that required a substantial time investment. I delivered far beyond the minimum requirements — implementing a fully structured, production-level solution with clean architecture, proper DTO/domain/entity separation, clear controller–service- repository layering, correct use of interfaces, and consistent, meaningful naming across packages, classes, methods, and variables. Also FULL of tests for every case. The codebase reflected senior-level engineering standards.
The outcome? A generic rejection email with zero technical feedback.
I followed up twice requesting even brief, constructive feedback — and was completely ignored.
It is unacceptable to require candidates to invest hours (or days) into unpaid technical work and then refuse to provide even minimal professional courtesy in return. If a company chooses to use extensive take-home assignments as part of its hiring process, accountability and transparency should not be optional.
The complete lack of feedback and communication reflects poorly on the hiring culture and respect for candidates’ time.
