I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Boston Scientific (Hong Kong) in Aug 2024
Interview
The HR demonstrated unprofessional and inappropriate behaviour throughout the interview. Instead of focusing on job-related questions, she repeatedly asked personal questions, including the origin of my name, my family background, my personal motivation for certain academic choices, and many more. I answered these in good faith, assuming they were intended to help her better understand my profile. However, towards the end of the interview, she used my responses to criticise me, not only in relation to my academic and personal decisions, but also my family’s financial situation and my personality, etc. I found this highly unprofessional and unnecessary. She made many condescending and mocking remarks, such as, “Why do you think you’re the one choosing the job? You’re just too spoiled with choices,” and, “Our programme has been running for a few years so why do you think our company should listen to an employee? It doesn’t make sense.” You can imagine what other, even more inappropriate comments she made during our one-hour interview, but I refrain from listing them all here. Such comments were wholly inappropriate in an interview setting and created a hostile atmosphere. I declined the invitation for a second-round interview because I was genuinely disgusted by the HR’s conduct. I believe this behaviour reflects poorly on the company, and I hope there is a formal mechanism for the organisation to review and address such conduct.

Question 1
What would you do if you don't meet your sales target?
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Boston Scientific
Interview
I was contacted by a 3rd party recruiter for an associate sales position. I did a phone screen and was informed of the process to move up from associate. Moved to the next step where I met the district manager and lead sales person for the area. They conducted a one-sided interview and really downplayed the ability to move up from this role but said they wanted to move me to the next step of sitting in on a surgery at a center 1.5 hours away. I agreed and drove all the way up there, sat through a full surgery, heard the surgeon make very unprofessional comments during the procedure and then I was told I would be contacted within the week for the next steps. I was then ghosted despite following up several times. Once I finally heard back it was a curt and generic response via text from the original recruiter. I felt very uncomfortable as a professional woman, the comments made by the surgeon was alarming (said his hands were shaky from working out too hard and that I needed a spanking.) I DO NOT recommend this company or role for any professional, especially not a woman. This was appalling and I cannot believe the audacity. Worst interview experience I have ever had.
