How can I emphasize/show that I'm a good worker when volunteer work is the only work experience I have? It's a loop of no job experience -> no job -> no job experience. I volunteer regularly in basically a grocery roll, but that's never good enough to get hired.

Do I have to tell my employer that I'm working a second job? I have an entry level office job that I just started a few weeks ago. I decided to keep my part time job at a local hotel. I work nights and some weekends there, so my schedules don't overlap. I haven't told either employer that I have another job. I can't get fired if one job finds out about the other, right?

I always have difficulty to set my goal during annual performance review. Everyone says setting clear goals helps track progress and stay motivated, but I'm thinking that would be a bullet for management not to raise my salary later on if I failed to meet them.
