Pros

Great ideas app ideas and some very talented people. I've met some very nice people here. New offices that are certainly an improvement on the old offices.

Cons

There have been some great people I've met here but the good ones don't last long. They either leave or are pushed out. There is a very negative fearful environment here which comes from the top down and that is directed at both the new and the old guard. Yes the company went through an acquisition but there has been a massive opportunity to make things better blatantly ignored. The management are all inexperienced and there is a lot of in department bullying and power posturing that goes on which has made my whole experience unpleasant. People have tried to speak up and they are shut down fairly quickly.

Pros

- Great office - Strong developers - Visa sponsorship for foreigners (with some restrictions but they are not clear) - Training sponsorship (although it's not easy to get your training request approved)

Cons

- Some employees are more concerned about dirty dishes, toilet cleanliness and these type of insignificant diversions than doing a great job and delivering good quality products. Then they spend their time making jokes about that subject on an internal company chat - Managers think that they live in a fairytale, that everything is magical and perfect and that all of the bad (even if constructive) Glassdoor reviews are fake. Guess what? They are not. You don't need an internal feedback box if you start taking Glassdoor reviews seriously - They provide fruits but not enough (two small baskets for more than 100 people) and company's barbecues but they charge you if you wanna join it. If the goal is to raise the employee satisfaction level, it's not working - It's clear to everyone that they don't expect employees to work there for more than two years. Not sure if it's a company's strategy but this mindset leads to a bad management in general - People are treated as resources and numbers. The only way of building a career there is complaining. If you're doing a great job and show some level of satisfaction, they don't see you as a turnover risk and you'll never be promoted. I really mean it. They have a useless spreadsheet describing the steps to the next level but even if you have taken them all, they find a way of coming up with a new excuse and you don't get promoted - Salaries are not competitive and can be at least €10k less than in other companies in the same country. The HR speech is "Well, I guess nobody will ever be happy about their salaries, right?". And that's why people are leaving

Thank you for taking time to write a review, as it’s a long one we think it’s fair to address your main points. We appreciate that you want to focus on your work and deliver great products, that's fantastic - we hope everyone feels the same as you in that regard! We provide a ‘chat’ group for the company to communicate widely across all areas. There are many ‘chat’ rooms for each and every project and team, the one you mention is meant as a light-hearted one for general use. If people are leaving dirty dishes in the sink instead of the dishwasher, it’s okay for people to call that out. If someone has left some goodies in the kitchen for everyone to enjoy, it’s okay to let people know on a group chat. I think you need to be flexible here - it’s good to talk! If it really is bothering you there is an option where you can opt out of that particular chat and you won’t see any notifications. This might ease your frustration? Trust me, as the person managing the responses and as an advocate of it, nothing about Glassdoor is fake. The reviews left are from employees, past and present. Responding to the them takes time and effort and not something we would do if we thought they were fake. We take them seriously and we would hope you respect the fact that we engage with all employees on all matters raised. It is fair to say that salaries, particularly in 2017, have seen a significant jump throughout the year. We do a thorough external market benchmarking exercise at the start of each year as it is in our best interest to reflect the market-rate as you said, otherwise people will be unhappy. If you are concerned about your own circumstances please do talk to your hiring manager in the first instance, or a member of the HR team. It takes great time, effort and cost to hire an employee. Many hours of reviewing CV’s, headhunting the right person, conducting numerous interviews etc to ensure we get the right person. We certainly hope they spend many years with us and we look forward to seeing them develop their careers with us. We learn a lot from each other as employees and value that in-house knowledge sharing. We have many employees that are in the company a long time and we hope every employee spends a significant part of their careers with us.

Pros

Nice offices Some good people left Most of the good people are software engineers Lazy environment

Cons

Managers who don't know how to manage people, no skills. People good in public relations are getting promotions. The majority of development managers are lacking of skills and in people management and in technical skills. Directors who are incompetent too. Most good and smart people left because they felt unappreciated. Mediocre people got managerial promotions without having managerial skills. Lack of basic software engineering principles. No automation. Endless regressions and legacy code.
