I applied online. I interviewed at Panda Restaurant Group (Reno, NV) in Mar 2026
Interview
The entire interview process was extremely clunky and unprofessional. Showed up to a "job fair" style setup at the restaurant. The manager was just sitting in the middle of the place calling "next interview!" leaving it up to the interviewees to keep track of which one of us was next. 15 minutes of the manager asking me zero questions about my work history. She just yammered on about how much she lives working at Panda. Somehow I managed to "pass" this step of the process and got my second interview with the district manager. She was late to the originally scheduled time to meet over zoom. Then the store manager texted me and told me to join in 30 minutes, so I did. The District Manager literally asked me one question. "Can you tell me about yourself?" Again no questions about my background or anything. Told me I would hear back by the following day. No one ever called me and I didn't bother to reach back out either. With how awkward and unorganized the experience was, bullet dodged imo.
I applied in-person. I interviewed at Panda Restaurant Group
Interview
The whole interview lasted about thirty minutes and was full of simple questions. They mostly wanted to know about me and has me explain my background. They also wanted examples of how my past background would be helpful for their store and staff.
Basic. 30 minutes. Asked about experience and standard behavioral questions. Manager and assistant manager were present. Shift lead joined half way through. All were pleasant and nice. Although shift lead seemed a bit rushed and flustered.
